My art aims to engage, to provoke and to move both visually and intellectually.
It is a vibrant, energetic use of colours, lines and pictures, coming together in various forms of abstract and figurative creativity.
Thoughts and emotions cannot be photographed so I translate them into my own images allowing a different physicality, a new face to emerge. Hence there is a strong abstract component inherent in my work, enabling me to ultimately express visually the complexity and mystery of human existence and the universe as a whole.
We should all try to be more like butterflies, at the mercy of the wind, becoming less controlled, and therefore capable of changing direction, form and point of observation, always gaining fresh new eyes and emotions.
I hope my paintings can be like ‘wind’ or at least something close to it.
Great art has the power to allow the heart to feel. What else do we demand of it but in some way to be moved.
